If you want to make the most out of your T-Mobile based Note 4, attain its full performance, and truly take over it, you have come to the right place! Experience them with the help of this article. Don’t worry because you do not need to have your pockets full. All you need to have is a working PC, a good internet connection for downloading and of course your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 T-Mobile.

Reminders:

This tutorial is only for those who want to root T-Mobile’s Galaxy Note 4. If you are running stock firmware, it is recommended that you update to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. You should also need your battery charged. An interruption in the middle of flashing would lose your process that you will cause you to redo everything from Step 1. Or worse, brick your phone.

Follow these steps at your own risk.

Step 1:

Go to your phone’s Settings > About phone > Build number. Tap it 6 to 10 times until ‘Developer mode has already been turned on’ displays. Now, return to Settings > Developer options > USB debugging. Check the box beside it.

Step 2:

You have to make sure that your PC recognizes your Note 4. To make sure that you will be able to connect smoothly, download your T-Mobile SM-N910TZKETMB USB Driver or T-Mobile SM-N910TZWETMB USB Driver and install it. This will update your Samsung USB drivers.

Step 3:

Now, connect to your PC. Transfer SuperSU zip file and Android 5.1.1 Custom Kernel for Samsung Galaxy Note 4 T-Mobile SM-N910T to internal storage or SD card. Do not these files.

Step 4:

Disconnect from PC and go to Download Mode. To enter Download Mode, turn of first. When the screen is already black, immediately hold Power, Home and Volume Down button at the same time. You should now see a warning sign on your screen so just press the Volume Up button to continue.

Step 5:

On your PC, extract the flashing tool Odin3 and open it with administrative privileges. When the program appears, plug back your phone. You should see in Odin3 that there is a ‘COM’ block lit up. It indicates that your phone is recognized and ready for the flashing.

Step 6:

Tick to check ‘Auto Reboot’ and ‘F. Reset’ boxes. These are the only boxes that should be checked and nothing else, otherwise the T-Mobile Note 4 rooting won’t occur correctly. So click the AP/PDA button (PDA for older versions of Odin3). Locate and select Team Win Recovery Project tar file. Before clicking ‘Start’ button, you should also be ready to enter Download Mode because once you click start in Odin3, it will immediately turn your phone off. In that instance, you should quickly hold down Power, Home and Volume Down button together.

Step 7:

You are now in the TWRP mode, otherwise known as Recovery Mode (run by TWRP). Backup your stock firmware by tapping ‘Backup’ on the menu. Tick ‘Boot’ only. This is your stock firmware, and you have to back it up in case you would need something from it in the future or if you want to unroot the Note 4. Now continue by swiping the slide below. After that, tap ‘Home’ to go back to the menu.

Step 8:

Install this time the Android 5.1.1 Custom Kernel that you transferred in Step 3. Tap ‘Install’ and locate the kernel zip file. Swipe the slide prompt below to continue the installation. After it, you should be running the custom kernel of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. This custom kernel overwritten your stock firmware for the T-Mobile Note 4 root to occur. Now, go back to the TWRP menu.

Step 9:

Install in TWRP menu the SuperSU zip file you transferred in Step 3 too. Wait until your phone reboots.

After rebooting, look up if you have successfully installed SuperSU. If you see it, launch and grant the pop ups. The app will overwrite some stuff. To make sure, download Root Checker from Google Play Store. Install and launch it to verify if you you got your T-Mobile Note 4 rooted.

If it says yes then, hooray, then you successfully learned to root Galaxy Note 4! You can finally take over your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 T-Mobile!
